SOL HORIZON
Sol Horizon has been Sonoma County’s premier reggae band for the past 25 years. The band was voted “Best Band” in the North Bay Bohemian’s “Best of the North Bay” Reader’s Picks in 2022 and 2023, as well as “Best Reggae Band” in the North Bay eight times, including the last four years in a row and seven of the previous eight years. The band is renowned for its energetic live performances and powerful lyrical content, focusing on themes of peace, positivity, community, sustainability, and the revitalizing power of nature. Deeply rooted in and nurtured by their dynamic local community, Sol Horizon maintains strong ties to the arts, culture, and natural beauty of Sonoma County.
Sol Horizon is also Northern California’s premier Bob Marley tribute band, honoring the global voice of reggae music by celebrating the life and legacy of Bob Marley through performances of his greatest songs.
Anchored by veteran musicians and former members of Groundation and Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade, Sol Horizon fuses roots reggae with dub, rock, funk, and world music. They have shared stages with legendary acts including Ziggy Marley, Steel Pulse, Anthony B, The Wailers, Morgan Heritage, Collie Buddz, Don Carlos, and Eek-a-Mouse, performing in venues and festivals across the USA. After touring in support of British reggae legend Pato Banton, the band collaborated with him on the title track of their second album, “Party Revolution.” In 2017, under the production of Grammy-winning engineer Isha Erskine, Sol Horizon released their fourth album, “Under the Sun,” followed by a remix project, "Under the Dub," featuring global electronic artists. The band continues to perform new material and plans to record again in late 2024.
